My Chef....

I have been seeing several posts on hubbies joining the wife on the journey of losing weight and becoming fit and healthy. That is wonderful!! My hubby is not there yet, but I have faith that when he sees my dedication, the weight coming off, and a permanent change in me he will follow suit. He loves to please me, and is a wonderful husband.

I mention on a previous post that I refused to eat some things he had purchased. Yes, he does a lot of shopping since we live in the country and he works in town. It saves us money for him to stop by the store on the way home.

Well, last night he wanted to cook dinner for us. :o) I was determined not to say anything about what he cooked...to be a good wife...to be thankful and appreciative. Even though almost any meal he cooks he always ends up with brownies for dessert.

This is my plate he fixed for me! He actually tried to fix something healthy. ;O)

It was a really simple, yet delicious meal! I made a conscience effort not to eat everything on my plate! :o) That is so hard for me! Growing up, I had to eat everything on my plate if I wanted dessert. Oh, and no wasting food because of the starving children in china. I'm sure some of you can relate.

I will say after the meal, my 5 year old asked if there was any dessert. (See he knows daddy too, because we don't do dessert a lot.) Man that really got me wanting a brownie. I'll just have half of one...I told myself. Yeah right! Well guess what?.....................

He didn't make any. After the slight disappointment left, I was proud of him. The craving went away. I got to stay on track! Maybe it will be sooner than later that he joins me!

Meet the chef....

Sounds like a success to me! Thanks honey...your the best!

  1. Sounds like he is already climbing on board to me! You can do it without him there but its SO much easier if you don't have to! For me anyway. My husband is 100x more likely to bring me ice cream than flowers! :-)

  2. My husband cooks with health in mind, except when in reality, the health bit slips away...sigh. Thumbs up to your husband for ditching dessert. You are doing awesome!

This is wishing my husband would soon join the health wagon...

  5. How sweet of him! My husband is losing weight with me, he's currently too heavy to weigh himself on our at home scale, but I can already see changes in him! I'm so proud of him. He loves to cook and has changed his ways with cooking also!

  6. That was so sweet of your hubby to cook. It looked really good. When and I do say when my hubby cooks it is steaks on the grill.
    Have a great weekend.

  8. What a cutie! How sweet is this post :) My husband is certainly not joining me in losing weight because he currently weighs about 145! Yep. That's right. Less than me, and taller. Ya know some people are just born skinny. My youngest daughter inherited the "petite" gean from him too, lucky lady. But he eats healthy and plenty of exercise too, rides his bike to work, plays on a footy team (touch rugby), playing with kids. It's good to have him as an example for us all, though he could do with a few less scotch and coke's (probably drinks them 4 out of 7 days a week). Anyway, no one is perfect :) Have a good one!

  10. FABulous!!

Sounds like he is on your side 100% & trying to help not hinder.

I, too, have 'clean your plate' syndrome. I have less than fond memories of my father making me sit at the table for hours until I ate everything (or my mom snuck it in the trash). I vowed not to do it to my kids but now I'm having to break my own habit.
    Tough one isn't it?!

    Have a great week!

  12. Your hubby was a great chef. I too was told to clean my plate as a child. Our starving children were in Africa, not China. I unfortunately say the same to my kids and am trying to change that habit.
