I am thrilled to say I had a 2 lb. loss this week!
I have managed to stay out of the 270's, and am thankful for that! Praise God! This means I have lost a total of 7.2 pounds for Chubby Chicks 4Th of July challenge. I started in week 7... Which means I am averaging 1 pound per week. (Well, actually less if you count from when I started trying to lose weight). Of course, I would like to average 2 pounds per week. Maybe when the exercising becomes consistent. However, I am encouraged to see the 1 pound a week average.

The day she died I lost it and went into the snack jar and threw out all the junk. Hubby brought home a whole bunch of snack cakes and junk he got free from work the night before. I threw them all away!! I asked him to please not bring any more home.
Sunday, I would not eat a sandwich my DH made me because it was made with white bread...I refused and only ate the turkey. Later that day, we went to go get ice-cream for a treat after my step-son's baccalaureate. I was going to choose a small frozen yogurt. The machine was out of order. I refused to get anything else. I sat and watched my hubby and boys enjoy their cones. Feeling good about my decisions. This has made an impact on me. We have been given one amazing body. We should take care of it! I pray it will be a lasting impact. That it will be the boost I need! My grandmother, mother, a few aunts all have had diabetes...It's in our DNA. I don't want it!! I have seen the effects!
What was your defining moment? Was there one big one or many small ones along the way?

Way to go, Rhonda!! I'm so happy that you are sticking with this and have the determination. I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt. I hope that you will continue to see the impact that this has made on you and continue to press on.
ReplyDeleteMy defining moment? I'm not sure I have a specific one...nothing really happened. Just one day I said that enough was enough and I better start turning my eating habits around or I will never be happy with who I am. I still remember the day, however, that I broke down and decided to change me for good.
Good for you! It sounds like you're really taking care of your body. These small changes make such a big {positive} impact on your health :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the loss so far. Awesome on chosing the 'right' foods and avoiding the icecream.
