GOALS
I believe in setting goals in my life. Sometimes I set goals that are too far in the distance or too big they seem impossible so I give up. When it comes to weight loss this is what I always seem to do. I need to lose over 100 lbs. and that is always my goal. That is so overwhelming I can't even begin to think about it without it stressing me out somewhat. Just typing this my heart is beating a little harder.

So, this time I am going to try something different. As I am learning from Dave Ramsey about our money he suggests taking baby steps. I am going to take baby steps...my goal is to lose 10% of my body weight. Research suggests that if you lose 10% of your weight then your health improves and you lesson your risks for some major diseases. I will need to lose 27 pounds...this still seems a lot but I have a smaller goal to meet first...10 lbs. That seems doable.
REWARDS
Something else I never have done is reward myself. This time I will also be giving myself incentives. For the first 10 pounds I lose I will get my hair highlighted. When I lose 20 pounds I will treat myself to a manicure/pedicure. I hope that comes sooner than later...I want pretty toes for Spring...not next winter.

Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes frm the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4
What goals and incentives have you set for yourself?

It's such a good thing to have little goals and rewards along the way. I know that when I lost my first chunk of weight, it was so nice to have those rewards to say "I did it and I deserve this!" It's kind of fun getting creative with some of the things that we can reward ourselves with. Good luck on your first goal!
